The Castellón company Bestile has managed to develop, together with Azuliber and Neos Additives, a new ceramic paste that reduces cooking times by half.
In this way, the amount of carbon dioxide that the company's kilns emit into the atmosphere is reduced by 15 percent and ratified by its commitment to the environment and combating climate change.
According to a statement issued by the company, the new pulp is part of the Ecoker project, in which Neos Additives and Azuliber are also involved.
The presentation of this project and the application of the new paste to the production process culminates a process of four years of work by the technicians of Bestile to complete this innovative ceramic process.
The technicians have estimated that the two ovens at the Bestile factory, located in l'Alcora, can save 2,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually.
This savings would be the equivalent of planting 332,000 trees each year.
With the application of the new paste, Bestile completes the process of productive reorientation initiated three years ago.
It was then when the company decided to bet on the ceramics made in white paste and the Kerajet digital printing system.
The firm carried out a complete restructuring of its l'Alcora plant to adapt it to the manufacture of high added value porcelain, with a special commitment to design, special and differentiated formats, constant R + D + i work the manufacture of a product of high difficulty.
At this moment, Bestile manufactures 10,000 square meters of high quality porcelain tiles with differentiating characteristics.
Bestile will live in 2008 a "vital" year for its future, as it is now that the complex process of reorientation and restructuring begun in 2004 should crystallize, according to the statement.
The firm has recently finalized the 2008-2012 business plan in the hands of the PricewaterhouseCoopers consultant.
The document "confirms the success of the firm at the time of proposing the reorientation of the lines of business for which it bet in 2004".
